Tubthumping

In 1997, a weirdly branded band named “Chumbawamba” came out with a surprisingly fantastic one hit wonder called “Tubthumping”.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.  The reason that I’m blogging about this right now, is that surprisingly, the lyrics are very symbolic to life events going on with me personally and professionally.

Listen carefully:

I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down

It’s actually really hard to miss. The lyric is repeated over and over again.  All throughout my life, I’ve been knocked down. In fact, I’m sure the majority of people out there can relate to some feeling of being setback or derailed.

What I’ve learned is that, as long as you’re being you and doing the best that you can do, no matter what life throws at you, if you get knocked down, get up again.  No one is ever going to keep you down.  Except yourself!

So, for the past three weeks, I’ve been tubthumping. I’ve been knocked down. But I’ve gotten up again. You are never gonna keep me down.

So if you’re wondering why things went silent for a few weeks, now you know: Tubthumping.

Now… about that Whiskey, Vodka, Lager, and Cider drink…
